New Tredyffrin Trail Watch Program To Keep Chester Valley Trail Safe: Report

The Tredyffrin Township Town Watch is expanding to help keep Tredyffrin's stretch of the Chester Valley Trail safe.

BERWY, PA – The Tredyffrin Township Town Watch is looking for volunteers to help with its new initiative that aims to protect trail goers from danger. Adding to its neighborhood watch and dog walker watch programs, the group is now deploying a trail watch program for Tredyffrin's stretch of the Chester Valley Trail.

Roughly 6 miles of the trail run through the township and town watch organizers and Tredyffrin Police are ensuring the trail is safe.

According to the town watch website, the trail watch program is for walkers and bikers who frequent the trail.

"As a member of Trail Watch, you wear an identifying garment which acts as a deterrent and call 911 if you see unusual activity or an emergency," the website says.

Completed applications should be submitted to Tredyffrin Town Watch Assoc., 1100 DuPortail Road, Berwyn, PA 19312.

Town watch volunteers are vetted with background checks and are trained on what to look for when patrolling, according to Main Line Media News.
