Police Chief: Tredyffrin Much Safer After Bust at Barber Shop

In his own words: Click on the clips from the TE Patch interview with Tredyffrin Police Chief Andrew Chambers to hear the staggering stats in the "Operation Heads Up" drug investigation.

It is one of the biggest drug investigations in Southeastern Pennsylvania in recent memory and authorties say the on Upper Gulph Road in Tredyffrin was at the hub of it all.

Set back from the road at the corner of Upper Gulph Road and Fairview Ave the Heads Up barbershop is next to a small graveyard with many toppled headstones and only a long tee shot away from the St. David's Golf Club course. It's a building you might not even notice as you approach the intersection of Upper Gulph and Radnor Roads from the east. But it's a location Tredyffrin Township Police started paying close attention in 2008.

An investigation that began in Tredyffrin more than two and a half years ago blossomed into a major regional drug investigation that culminated in the arrests of Anthony and Michael Dennis, brothers who authorities allege ran a major drug distribution network based at the shop.

The Dennis brothers are now being held in a Montgomery County jail on $2 million bail each. Twenty-five other suspects are also facing charges after a massive investigation and raids announced Tuesday.

The case began when Police started piecing together information from suspects in individual drug cases. From that starting point in 2008, Tredyffrin Township Police Chief Andrew Chambers told  Patch yesterday, the investigation expanded to a long list of suspects, evidence and law enforcement agencies working together to make the case.
