Police Officer Injured in Struggle With Alleged Thief
The officer was treated at Paoli Hospital; a Philadelphia man is charged with theft and assault of an officer.

A Tredyffrin Township police officer was injured last week in a struggle with an alleged cell phone thief, police said.
Events began, police said, when an iPhone was reported stolen from the Dunkin Donuts in Devon. The victim was able to remotely lock the phone, and added a message offering a reward.
The suspect called the victim to report that he had found the phone and wanted the reward, police said. The victim called police to assist.

During the return transaction, there was a struggle between the police officer and the suspect, police said.
The officer, whose name was not released, was treated at Paoli Hospital for minor injuries and has been released, police said.

The suspect, Tyrone King, 47, of Philadelphia, is charged with theft by unlawful taking; possession of an instrument of crime; resisting arrest; aggravated assault of an officer; theft by extortion and receiving stolen property.
