The Easttown Township Board of Supervisors approved the preliminary budget for 2022 at their Monday meeting, and a tax hike looms.

EASTTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — With Easttown Township's supervisors approving the preliminary 2022 budget, residents should prepare for a property tax increase should it pass as is.

The supervisors approved the preliminary budget Monday.

In the preliminary budget is a 3 percent increase in the millage rate.

As it stands, 2022's millage rate will increase from 4.134 to 4.258.

A home with an assessed value of $500,000 will see a $62 increase in its tax bill.

Projected real estate revenue for 2022 is $5.8 million.

Next year's revenue is $14.3 million while the expenditures are $15.8 million, leaving a $1.55 million deficit.
