Saquon Barkley Speaks Out After Burglary At His Main Line Home: Report

TREDYFFRIN, PA — Days after a burglary at Saquon Barkley's Main Line house, the Philadelphia Eagles running back found a silver lining.

Barkley told NBC Sports Philadelphia he feels "shaken up" after the weekend incident. But he feels fortunate that his family is OK and nothing was stolen.

"The scenario that happened was the best way," Barkley said in his first public appearance since the incident. "If it happened like that 10 times — because my boy was there, my family was there — and nobody ended up getting hurt. Nothing ended up being taken. You can't really get a better situation."

Barkley says his son was home, but he's too young to understand what happened. His daughter, who is his eldest child, wasn't there.

"It made me aware that I've got to be a little bit sharper with my security," Barkley said.

Police responded to a burglary in progress at Barkley's home around 5:10 a.m. Saturday in the Malvern section of Tredyffrin Township. Before officers arrived, the suspects fled.

Tredyffrin Police, who are leading the investigation, shared a photo of a white SUV believed to be involved. But investigators think other suspect vehicles may have been there.

Police are also seeing whether this is linked to burglaries at other professional athletes' homes over the last few years.

Investigators have asked nearby residents to check their home security cameras for any suspicious activity from around 5 a.m. Saturday.

"If you saw anything unusual or have video that may assist investigators, please contact the Tredyffrin Township Police Department immediately," said the Chester County District Attorney's Office.
