Scholarships Awarded To Berwyn Fire Co. Volunteers

Three firefighters and the company's chief each were awarded $1,000 scholarships to continue their education.

BERWYN, PA – Four volunteers with the Berwyn Fire Company, the chief included, were recently awarded scholarships to continue their education by perusing undergraduate and graduate degrees.

A total of $4,000, with each volunteer getting $1,000, was awarded to the emergency responders on Monday, June 13, at the Lower Merion Township Municipal Building, according to the fire company.

  • Eamon Brazunas, Fire Chief - $1,000 - Anna Maria College - Master's (Paxton, Massachusetts)
  • Vincent Miller, Firefighter/EMT - $1,000 - Montgomery County Community College - Undergraduate (Blue Bell,)
  • Ryan Peterson, Firefighter - $1,000 - Temple University - Undergraduate (Philadelphia)
  • Andrew Ritter, Firefighter - $1,000 - Ursinus College - Undergraduate (Collegeville)

The scholarship funds are made possible through the Volunteer Firefighter/EMT Scholarship Program, which is designed to provide recognition for this important group of dedicated community servants who are part of the 17 volunteer fire companies serving the Main Line.

The Main Line Chamber Foundation Volunteer Firefighter/EMT Scholarship program plans to continue to grow and provide support, recognition, and honor to the fire/EMS personnel serving Main Line communities.
