Show Off Your Pooch At The National Dog Show Charity Walk Sunday At Wilson Farm Park

In honor of National Dog Show Month, the National Dog Show Charity Walk is taking place Sunday, Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. to noon at Wilson Farm Park in Wayne.

The event will benefit local charities including the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, PACT For Animals, Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), New Leash on Life USA, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Foundation, Morris Animal Refuge and Lilo’s Promise Animal Rescue, according to the event's website.

The family and dog friendly one-mile walk will include prizes, games, food, and other activities. Teenage athletes from the GymOlympic Sports Academy of Exton kick off the walk by walking on their hands with dogs leashed to their ankles. The event will also feature Wagsworth Manor agility dogs, TSA detection dogs, and costume, trick and beauty contests.

The walk will be hosted by David Frei, the expert analyst for The National Dog Show Presented by Purina on NBC with co-hosts Molly Sullivan French of Comcast SportsNet and Dawn Timmeney of Fox 29 News.

Participants can register in advance for $20 per person or $35 per family (two or more). Participants can register the day of the walk for $25 per person or $40 per family. All dogs participate free of charge but must be leashed.

The walk will go on rain or shine.
