Slight Gas Odor Detected In Easttown: Berwyn Fire Company

While the fire company said levels aren't dangerous, residents who smell gas in or around their homes should contact PECO immediately.

EASTTOWN, PA – The Berwyn Fire Company said a slight gas odor was detected in Easttown Township Tuesday morning, but the levels they found were not dangerous.

According to the fire company, the odor was detected in the area of Waterloo and Midland avenues at about 9:24 a.m. Tuesday.

While there was a slight odor of gas, the fire company said its gas meters did not detect dangerous levels of gas, the fire company said.

PECO crews responded to investigate the odor, according to the fire company.

The fire company said it has received numerous reports of slight gas odor in that area in the recent months.

Anyone who smells gas in or around their homes should contact PECO at its 24-hour hotline at (800) 841-4141.

Additionally, residents should call 911 for an emergency such as a fire, a vehicle accident involving PECO equipment, an electric contact/shock or other potential danger.
