Surrey Appoints Four New Board Members

Several new members are residents of Tredyffrin-Easttown

Surrey Services for Seniors, a nonprofit whose mission is to help older adults live at home with independence and dignity and to continue as active members of the community, appointed four new board members at its Annual Meeting in June 2015.

Ms. Cecile Charlton has served as the Executive Director of the Delaware County Transportation Management Association (DCTMA) for 15 years. She is the recipient of several awards including the International ATHENA Award for outstanding woman in business. Ms. Charlton is a member of Surrey’s Delaware County Advisory Council. She is a resident of Upper Providence Township and a graduate of St. Joseph’s University.

Ms. Dorothy Miller is Principal of Miller Consulting Services. She has more than 30 years of experience in sales and management of hospitals and independent clinical laboratories, most recently with SmithKline Beecham Corporation. Ms. Miller is a volunteer Medicare counselor for APPRISE and has formerly served on Surrey’s Home Care Committee. She holds a BS and MBA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MS from Lehigh University. Ms. Miller resides in Devon.

Mr. Donald Volk is a Director and member of the Investment Committee of Karlani Capital, a venture fund that invests primarily in early stage and startup technology ventures. Don is also the Chairman of Volk Investment Group, a startup real estate investment company in the Northwest. Mr. Volk is currently on Surrey’s Finance Committee. Mr. Volk has a BS in Accounting from Villanova University and a Masters of Taxation from Villanova School of Law. He resides in Berwyn.

Ms. JoAnn Ladden has more than 30 years of experience working at educational institutions, 20 of those years were in various positions at Conestoga High School. After retiring in 2008, she continues to works part time at Conestoga administering college tests and acting as a private College Planning Liaison. Ms. Ladden has been an active participant and volunteer at Surrey for 10 years. She is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with degrees in Spanish and Secondary Education and resides in Berwyn.
