T/E School District Appoints New Director of Individualized Student Services
Chris Groppe has been with the district since 1999 and brings 20 years of special education experience to his new role.

The Tredyffrin/Easttown School District Board recently appointed a new Director of Individualized Student Services as the current director announced her retirement.
Chris Groppe, who joined the district in 1999 as a learning support teacher, will bring 20 years of special education experience to the Director of Individualized Student Services.
Groppe will replace Dr. Andrea Chipego, who recently announced her plan to retire at the end of this school year.

Groppe will begin his new position on July 1, 2017

During his time in education, Groppe served as teacher on special assignment in the Office of Individualized Student Services followed by assistant principal at T/E Middle School and Conestoga High School.
He was then appointed special education supervisor where he was responsible for developing and implementing the District special education plan; supervising District special education staff and programming; leading efforts to support students as they prepare for the transition from secondary school; and managing the District’s extended school year program.
Groppe has been a member of the Middle School Advisory Committee and the District Diversity Committee. He was also part of the Strategic Planning Committee for the Chester County Technical College High School.
Groppe served in the United States Army Reserve and was Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge at a US Army Hospital detachment.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education and a Master of Education degree in special education from Pennsylvania State University and is enrolled doctoral program at Saint Joseph’s University with an anticipated graduation date of January 2018.
