T/E School Tax Increase Comes Up for Final Vote Tonight

The School Board meeting has been moved to Conestoga High School to accommodate the expected crowd.

Taxes are going up for residents of the Tredyffrin-Easttown School District. The question now is by exactly how much.

While it's not the first item on the agenda for tonight's T/E School Board Meeting, a proposed increase of about 3.7 percent is what will most likely be the first thing on the minds of many from the public and the members of the board who have been grappling with the numbers for months now. That works out to an average of increase of $171 per year, according to multiple sources.

After a special meeting of the board on June First, Board President Karen Cruishank told Patch the final amount of the tax increase would hinge on several factors, including whether or not more state money was allocated to local school districts in early June.

The school board will meet to hear public comments and to vote on the budget at 7:30p.m. at Conestoga High School. Details of the agenda items are posted on the district's website.
