Thousands Stolen From Berwyn Barnes And Noble In Two Thefts

Two separate incidents occurred at the normally quiet shopping complex in Berwyn on Tuesday.

TREDYFFRIN, PA - Multiple retail thefts of thousands of dollars of merchandise occurred at the Berwyn Barnes & Noble on December 29, Tredyffrin Township police said.

The first incident occurred at about 4:04 p.m. on Tuesday when three females fled the store with bags full of merchandise.

About $2,000 worth of merchandise was inside the bags.

A little over two hours later, at 6:45 p.m., a second theft occurred when a man took boxes from the store.

An employee attempted to stop the suspect, who then struck the employee with one of the packages and fled the scene in a car.

The suspect made off with about $400 worth of merchandise.

It is not known if the cases are connected.
