Tredyffrin Cites Importance Of Sewer System Rehab For Neighbors

There were three spills along the line between 2012 and 2015, resulting in the dumping of raw sewage into Valley Creek.

TREDYFFRIN, PA - The Tredyffrin Township Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a memorandum for sharing costs for the Valley Creek Trunk Sewer System as a meeting on December 21, they announced in a press release Tuesday.

The official Memorandum of Understanding, also approved by the East Whiteland Township Board of Supevisors, means that costs will be shared between the following municipalities and organizations within the two townships:

  • Easttown
  • Malvern
  • Willistown
  • Valley Forge Sewer Authority

The cost will be shared based on each municipality’s average flow.

The rehabilitation of the sewer system will consist of improving the 49,000 lineal feet of gravity santiary sewers, along with the Darby Road Pump Station, the Wilson Road Pump Station, and the Force Mains on Lancaster Avenue and Glenn Avenue.

Township supervisors of the other municipalities must also agree to the memorandum, Tredyffrin urges, to protect natural resources and human health.

The rehabilitation is set to begin in January. Preliminary staging began on December 14.
