Great job TTPD, Berwyn Fire Company EMS, and the upstanding neighbors!

Tredyffrin Township Police, Berwyn Fire Company EMS, and some stellar neighbors leaped into action last week after being alerted to a medical emergency in Wayne.
According to police, officers responded to the Wayne section of the township for a possible cardiac arrest emergency at about 12:51 p.m. on Saturday, March 18.
Ofc. Chris Middleton was first on scene where he found an unconscious man who was not breathing, had a faint pulse, and was being tended to by his wife, police said.

The man's neighbors started chest compressions and rescue breathing as Middleton prepared a portable automated external defibrillator (AED), which TTPD officers carry in patrol vehicles for these exact types of situations, police said.
As Middleton prepped the AED, Ofc. Richard Gasparo and Sgt. Tyler Moyer arrived, taking over delivering compressions from the neighbors, according to police.

After delivering a shock from the AED, police and the neighbors continued performing CPR until EMS personnel from Berwyn Fire Company arrived and took over care, police said.
Within minutes, medics were able to stabilize the victim's vital signs, and later transport him to the hospital for treatment, police said.
"We’ve subsequently received information that the Victim survived, and continues to receive care at the hospital," police said.
Everyone who intervened in this emergency situation deserves a round of applause for helping save a man's life.
