Tredyffrin, Easttown Churches Join Area Day Of Service In May

TREDYFFRIN-EASTTOWN, PA — Several churches in Tredyffrin and Easttown are joining numerous others in the area for a Day of Service in May.

Twenty churches in Chester County and the Main Line will join together on Saturday, May 4, to perform service projects in area communities.

The following Tredyffrin and Easttown churches will participate in the day of service:

• Paoli Presbyterian Church
• St. Norbert Catholic Church, Paoli
• Daylesford Abbey, Paoli
• Paoli United Methodist
• Church of the Good Samaritan Episcopal, Paoli
• Trinity Presbyterian, Berwyn
• Wayne Central Baptist, Wayne
• St. John's Presbyterian, Devon

Volunteers will weed and plant flowers at Royer-Greaves School for Blind in Paoli, repair and stock food boxes for It Takes a Village in Downingtown, and rehab an apartment for asylum seekers in Ardmore.

Altogether, the 20 churches will do nearly as many projects.

Other projects include spring cleanup at the Rosemont campus of The Village, baking casseroles to supplement food needs for families and seniors in Paoli, and serving a meal to the homeless in Chester.

"We are many churches, but we are united in believing that Jesus calls us to address the needs in our communities; we are to be the hands and feet of the Lord we serve," said Tom Infield, of Paoli Presbyterian Church, chairman of the Day of Service planning committee.
