Tredyffrin Library Honored By Pennsylvania Library Association
Library showed a commitment to helping citizens improve their quality of life and achieve greater success in all vital roles of life.

STRAFFORD, PA – The Tredyffrin Public Library was recently honored with a noble distinction, having been named Star Library by the Pennsylvania Library Association.
"Libraries throughout Pennsylvania continue highlighting that they are more than book repositories, earning stars along the way and underscoring their continued connections in their local communities," Christi Buker, Pennsylvania Library Association (PaLA) Executive Director states as the Association announces the 2018 third quarter PA Forward Star Library recipients.
To achieve the PA Forward designation, the Tredyffrin Public Library demonstrated a commitment to helping citizens improve their quality of life and achieve greater success in all vital roles of life: as students, as parents, as employees, as consumers, as citizens.

These literacies are basic, information, civic and social, health, and financial.
Programs offered at the library for children include storytimes and reading readiness for preschoolers, ESL and foreign language storytimes; sewing, art, chess, coding, and much more.

Teens can join book clubs, attend theater camp, gaming and k-pop dance.
TThere are a variety of book clubs and a poetry group; yoga, mindfulness, meditation, and wellness; programs for job seekers and business owners; bridge, mah jongg and chess games and lessons; and programs on topics of varying interest including history, gardening, music, film and art.
"Using the PA Forward framework, libraries help patrons meet their own needs and those of their loved ones in an ever-evolving society," Buker said.
The library is a community center that provides not just a place for learning and growth, but a welcoming place, a safe space and an opportunity for community connections.
Tredyffrin Public Library is one of five libraries in Chester County to earn Star status in the PA Forward Program.
Library officials said they look forward to continuing to identifying needs in the community and striving to adding to the Star achievements.
