The commendation reads as follows:
On 5/13/2015, the above named law enforcement personnel did respond to Main Street in response to a “911” from a wife who reported that her husband had overdosed on heroin, was, “conscious but not breathing”. Sgt. Spiller arrived and administered the first of two doses of Naloxone (Narcan) to the semi-conscious subject. Ofc. Slavin administered a second dose and the subject revived and became conscious. Berwyn Ambulance transported the subject to PMH for follow up treatment and the responding medics took charge of the used Narcan. Investigation discovered that both subjects had injected heroin on that date and empty baggies were recovered at the scene. Both subjects went to the hospital for treatment and recovered. The three officers were recognized in two events. Most recently, on 3/1/2016 at the Capitol, Sgt. Spiller attended with Supt. Giaimo and Lt. Landis. The first was by Good Fellowship Ambulance Corp on 1/16/2016.
