Tredyffrin Police Department To Hold Citizens Police Academy

"By participating in this program, citizens promote community involvement - one of the most powerful forces any law enforcement agency has."

TREDYFFRIN, PA -- Each year, the Tredyffrin Township Police Department holds a Citizens Police Academy for residents as part of its community crime prevention program. The program is designed to increase understanding between citizens and police officers through training and open communications, police said in a press release.

The township's Community Policing Unit organizes the academy. The goal is to inform the public on current crime trends, and to empower them to avoid becoming a victim of crime.

"The academy is an excellent program to bring the community and police department closer together through mutual understanding and training. By participating in this program, citizens promote community involvement - which is one of the most powerful forces any law enforcement agency has in the fight against crime," retired Officer Larry Meoli said.
