One of the key functions of the Community Policing and Crime Prevention Unit is to unite the public with the police department to reduce crime and reinforce the importance of community involvement. The Citizens Police Academy is a great way to accomplish just that.
By design, the course connects members of the community with those of the police department.
This close up exposure with one another, allows information to be passed back and forth in such a way that promotes mutual understanding.
This is a very important concept that keeps the police department in tune with the people it serves every day.
