Police looking into possible prosecution from online "threats."

Tredyffrin Township Police said Monday they are investigating several threatening social media posts that named specific locations in the township. The posts came from a clown social media page, making it just one of many clown threats across the country.
"The Tredyffrin Twp. Police Department was notified of a series of Twitter communications identifying various locations in our township, including schools as potential victims for the 'AngryClown,'" police said in a press release. "Anonymous Twitter users(s) passed along a request to various other accounts asking the Clowns to, 'come to Pennsylvania on Tuesday,' and, 'Come to Devon , PA and visit …'"
Police said the department is investigating "threatening social media communications for any possible police prosecution."

Philadelphia Police discovered a 13-year-old girl was behind threatening clown social media posts. Tredyffrin Police are "advising persons to re-consider before participating in any 'copy cat' style behavior that may endanger them or the public at large." Anyone who encounters or is harassed by any persons on public or private property dressed in such attire should contact police directly, police said.
Police said although no reports of actual clown sightings have been received in the township, local law enforcement is working with the FBI and Department of Homeland Security to vet any threats.
