Tredyffrin Police Report: Four Facing Drug-Related Charges

Identity theft, harassment, and check scamming incidents also listed in report.

Tredyffrin Township Police said four individuals are facing drug related charged in three separate incidents that occurred Sept. 23 and Sept. 24.

Police charged Hassan Jamil Muhammad, 23, and Abdulbasir Muhammad, 21, both of Norristown, with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia when officers detected the odor of marijuana on both males at about 3:05 a.m. Sept. 23 on the 900 block of Swedesford Road in Berwyn, police said.

After a traffic stop on at about 2:02 a.m. on Sept. 23 on state Route 202, police charged Scott David Fisher, 33, of Malvern, was charged with unsworn falsification to authorities; possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia, police said. Court documents show Fisher has also been charged with disregarding traffic lanes.

Shawn Farrell, 22, of King of Prussia, PA was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. after a traffic stop at about 3:34 a.m. Sept. 24 on state Route 202, police said.

Police also reported several non-drug related incidents that recently took place.

A 46-year-old Wayne man was charged with harassment and disorderly conduct following a dispute where police said he was the aggressor. The incident occurred at about 2:11 p.m. on Sept. 24 at Teegarden Park in Berwyn, police said.

On Sept. 27 at about 11:16 a.m. a resident on the 300 block of Bair Road in Berwyn reported receiving a check in their name with their correct address for $642 through a FedEx delivery, police said. The homeowner assumed the check was fraudulent and reported it after researching the bank from which the check originated, police said. Police said randomly receiving checks is usually someone attempting a scam you and urge anyone who receives a random check to not cash it and report it to police.

Police are also warning of identity theft scams after several reports.

Police said two homeowners reported separate instances of packages arriving at their homes that they did not order. One package was from Ebay and the other from Amazon, police said.

Police also said they have received reports of credit cards and retail store accounts being opened in people's names. Anyone who has had any accounts fraudulently opened in their names should file complaints with the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center and the Federal Trade Commission.
