Dillon Quinn, 19, of the 900 block of Henry Avenue in Wayne sold heroin to another Tredyffrin Township teen, who overdosed and died, the District Attorney’s Office said.

“Every drug dealer knows that the poison they are distributing could kill somebody. This is particularly true with heroin dealers,” District Attorney Thomas P. Hogan said. “If you distribute heroin that kills somebody in Chester County, you are going to feel the full weight of the criminal justice system.”

The 19-year-old, whose name was not released, was found dead in his bed on Aug. 8 at his home on the 300 block of Irish Road in Berwyn, the District Attorney’s Office said. Six empty packets of heroin with a unique stamp were found around the body, authorities said.

Subsequent investigation revealed that the victim purchased the heroin from Quinn on Aug. 7 at the Overbrook train station, the District Attorney’s Office said.

“We have experienced a significant upward trend in heroin usage in the recent years,” Tredyffrin Superintendent of Police Anthony Giaimo said. “This illegal drug consistently yields tragic results as exemplified in this case.”

Quinn was arrested by Tredyffrin Township Police and was committed to Chester County Prison after failing to post $200,000 bail.

“This case is a grim reminder to all heroin dealers and users. Heroin will lead you straight to jail or your grave,” Hogan said. “And this applies across Chester County, from Tredyffrin to Oxford, from North Coventry to Coatesville.”

Quinn is charged with drug delivery resulting in death, a felony; possession of a controlled substance; possession with intent to deliver; and related charges. The case will be prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kevin Pierce.
