Tredyffrin Township Libraries Getting $50K In State Funds

Funds from Pennsylvania Department of Education's Keystone Grants will be used to install a new LED lighting system on the first floor.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — A $50,000 funding boost is coming to the Tredyffrin Township Libraries thanks to State Rep. Melissa Shusterman, D-Chester/Montgomery.

Shusterman said the Tredyffrin Township Libraries are getting $50,000 in state funding through the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Keystone Grants.

The funds will be used toward replacing first floor lighting with an all new LED lighting system in the Tredyffrin public library and Paoli library.

“I’m thankful that our community libraries were selected to receive these funds,” Shusterman said. “These upgrades will help enhance library patrons’ experience by creating a more ideal space for learning, gathering, working or simply enjoying a good book.”

Keystone Grants are competitive grants funded through the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund. Grants of up to $750,000 may be used for planning, acquisition, construction and rehabilitation of public libraries, and must be matched dollar-for-dollar.

Examples of fundable projects include, but are not limited to: ADA upgrades, new roof, replacement windows, energy efficient upgrades to HVAC systems, facility expansion and new construction.
