Six possession charges, thefts, and a phone scam targeting grandparents highlight the newest police activity report.

Tredyffrin Township Police released its latest crime update, highlighting police activity in the township from Jan. 31 to Feb. 12.
POSSESSION
Jan 31, 7:29 p.m., state Route 202 – Walter Jones, 30, of Clifton Heights was charged with Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana and Paraphernalia during a traffic stop.

SIMPLE ASSAULT
Feb. 1, 1:28 p.m., 1900 block of Swedesford Road in Malvern – Joseph Calabi, 56, of Malvern, was charged with Simple Assault; Harassment and Recklessly Endangering another Person following a domestic dispute.

SHOPLIFTING
Feb. 1 8:07 p.m., Barnes & Noble Store in Devon – Unknown actors fled the store with three packages of Lego sets which were not paid for. The total value of the sets is approximately $260.
THEFT
Feb. 2, 12:46 p.m., Prestige Salon in Devon – Vitalia Souprountchouk, 32, of King of Prussia, was charged with Theft of Services after not paying for services rendered.
POSSESSION
Feb. 4, 11:04 p.m., Valley Forge Motor Court in Wayne – Deidra Shoates, 49, of Norristown, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Paraphernalia after she was contacted by officers.
CREDIT CARD FRAUD
Feb. 4, 4:57 p.m., Barnes & Noble store in Devon – Three actors attempted to purchase items using fraudulent credit cards. The actors and charges are as follows: Javon Burgess, 24, of Jamaica, New York – Use of a stolen credit card; Retail Theft and Criminal Conspiracy. Alton Simpson, 24, of Rosedale, New York - Use of a stolen credit card; Retail Theft and Criminal Conspiracy. Darrell McCarthy, 23, of Rosedale, New York - Use of a stolen credit card; Retail Theft; Criminal Conspiracy and Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana and Paraphernalia.
POSSESSION
Feb. 5, 5:23 p.m., Minor Avenue in Paoli – Fernando Patlan-Murrieta, 30, of Camden, was charged with Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana during a traffic stop.
“GRANDPARENT” PHONE SCAM
Tredyffrin Township Police Department has received reports of Senior Citizens getting phone calls from their “grandchildren” who are in trouble or have been injured. The scenario is usually the “grandchild” asking the victim to purchase gift cards and provide the subject with the code number off the cards, for either their legal fees or medical fees. This is a scam. Police urge residents to hang up and confirm with their relatives before purchasing thousands of dollars’ worth of gift cards. The actors can be very convincing and prey on your vulnerabilities.

Feb. 8, 9:50 a.m., 200 block of Drummers Lane in Wayne – Michael Biasiello, 27, of Ardmore, was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after he was contacted by police.

Feb. 9, 1:45 a.m., Lancaster Avenue in Paoli – Joseph Liberati, 23, of Haverford, was charged with Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana and Paraphernalia during a traffic stop.
POSSESSION
Feb. 10, 9:02 a.m., state Route 202 – Johnathan Hofener, 22, of Blue Bell, was charged with Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana and Paraphernalia during a traffic stop.
PICK POCKET
Feb. 2, 9 a.m., Panera Bread in Gateway Shopping Center – The victim reported her wallet stolen while dining in the restaurant the night before. The wallet contained identification, U.S currency and credit cards which were later used to make fraudulent purchases by an unknown actor. The case is under investigation.
THEFT FROM VEHICLE
Feb. 11, 12:46 p.m., 1600 block of Weedon Road in Wayne – The victim reported their unlocked vehicle was entered by actor(s) unknown. Loose change was stolen from the vehicle.
THEFT FROM VEHICLE
Feb. 12, 2:24 p.m., 200 block of Lafayette Lane in Wayne – The victim reported their wallet stolen from their vehicle which contained identification, credit cards, gift cards and U.S. currency.
IGNITION INTERLOCK
Feb. 2, 8:43 p.m., state Route 202 – Jesse Groff, 35, of Downingtown, was charged with Operating a Vehicle without Ignition Interlock.
