Tredyffrin Twp. Police Lieutenant, Sergeant Retire After Nearly 60 Combined Years Of Service

Thank you for your service, Lt. Taro Landis and Sgt. Timothy Barrar!

The Treydffrin community and police department are saying goodbye to two longtime public servants, as Sgt. Timothy Barrar and Lt. Taro Landis are both retiring after years of serving the Tredyffrin community.

The department announced Barrar's and Landis' retirements Wednesday, with Superintendent Anthony Giaimo thanking the departing officers for their dedication to the public.

"We wish these dedicated officers the best of luck in their future endeavors," Giaimo said. "We certainly appreciate their professionalism, dedication to duty and caring service to the community."

While he is leaving Tredyffrin, Landis will continue his law enforcement carer in Cumberland County, where he has been named the Chief of Police for Carlisle Borough Police Department

Landis served the department for 29 years and was promoted to Lieutenant in July 2013.

Barrar, a former traffic squad and Chester County DUI Task Force member, retired on Jan. 25 after 30 years of service with the department.

Barrar leaves Tredyffrin to serve as an agent with the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office.

Thank you Lt. Landis and Sgt. Barrar for serving the Tredyffrin community for so many years and good luck in your future endeavors!
