Tredyffrin Twp. Police Report Robbery, Fleeing, Drug Charges
Three charged in connection with May strong-arm robbery at Gateway Shopping Center, police say.

Tredyffrin Township Police released information on a series of cases that occurred over several months in the township Thursday, with one case being a strong-armed robbery that took place in May at the Gateway Shopping Center.
According to police, Elana Trozzi, 28, of Dover, Pa.; Andrew Laban-Maclay, 28, of Harrisburg were charged with first degree felony robbery; first degree felony criminal conspiracy to robbery; third degree felony identity theft; second degree misdemeanor simple assault; first degree misdemeanor access device fraud; first degree misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking; first degree misdemeanor receiving stolen property; second degree felony forgery on Aug. 25 by Tredyffrin Township Police.
All charges filed against Trozzi were dismissed on Sept. 16, according to court documents. All charges filed against Laban-Maclay were bound over to the Court of Common Pleas at a preliminary hearing at the Chesterbrook District Court on Friday, Sept. 9th where Magisterial District Judge Analisa Sondergaard presided.

Andrew Paul Davis, 26, of Middletown, Pa. was charged with third degree felony robbery; third degree felony criminal conspiracy to robbery; second degree misdemeanor simple assault; first degree misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking; and first degree receiving stolen property, court records show. Davis is awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania from North Carolina, where all three suspects were captured and confined on unrelated charges, police said.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the Gateway Shopping Center for a strong-arm robbery that occurred at about 8:18 p.m. on May 19. Upon arrival, police found the victim laying on the ground bleeding and complaining of pain. The victim told police they were walking in the parking lot of the Gateway Shopping Center when a vehicle drove by slowly, police said. The passenger reached out snatching her purse causing the victim to suffer facial lacerations and abrasions, police said. The actors then used the victim’s credit cards at various local stores, police said.

Police also reported several other arrests and charges in the area.
Vincent Rotelle, 22, of Collegeville, Pa. was charged with first degree misdemeanor feeling or attempting to elude police as well as summary charges of speeding, disregarding traffic lanes, use of an improper license class, and careless driving, court documents show. While on patrol on Sept. 15 at about 1:07 a.m., officers observed a motorcyclist, later identified as Rotelle, traveling at a high rate of speed on state Route 202. When police attempted to stop the Rotelle, he did not comply but eventually stopped after a "brief chase," police said. Rotelle is slated to appear before Judge Sondergaard on Oct. 28 for his preliminary hearing, court records show.
Scott Allen Risser, 24, of Lancaster, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia after a traffic stop at about 1:29 a.m., Sept. 17 on state Route 202, police said.
Other crimes reported are:
- Sept. 16, 11:40 a.m., public drunkenness charge filed against a 46-year-old Phoenixville woman on Grove Avenue in Devon;
- Sept. 18, 4:58 p.m., disorderly conduct charges filed against a 23-year-old female Bala Cynwyd woman and a 25-year-old female from North Plainfield, N.J. woman after an altercation at Chuck-E-Cheese in Berwyn
- Sept. 20, 4:29 p.m., several memory cards were stolen from an unnamed business on Lancaster Avenue in Devon
- Sept. 17, several unlocked vehicles were rummaged through during the overnight hours by an unknown actor or actors on Golf Club Lane, Fairway Road, Greene Road, Williams Lane, Beechwood Road, Carol Lane and Donalyn Lane in the Paoli and Berywn areas. Police said loose change and miscellaneous items were stolen. Police said residents should lock car doors at all times, even while parked in your own driveway and never leave any valuables in the vehicle.
