Trees, Wires Catch Fire, Cause Power Outages: Berwyn Fire Co
Residents in Berwyn experienced power outages early Thursday morning after some wires and trees caught fire, the Berwyn Fire Company said.
BERWYN, PA – Berwyn residents were in the dark for a while early Thursday morning after wires and trees caught fire, according to fire officials.
At about 12:13 a.m. the Berwyn Fire Company was called to the 1000 block of Cassatt Road for trees and wires on fire, the fire company said.
Crews discovered the fire near the now vacant former Vertex property.

PECO crews also responded to shut off power to the wires before crews could put out the flames.
The fire company said a power outage effected the immediate area, impacting traffic lights.

The scene was clear by about 2 a.m., according to the fire company.
This incident was eventually cleared by 2 a.m.
