TTPD Hosting Physical Agility, Written Tests For Potential Hires

BERWYN, PA – The Tredyffrin Township Police Department is hosting a physical agility assessment and written test for potential new hires. There are some strict requirements for applicants, and we have the details here.

The test will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 at Conestoga High School, 200 Irish Road, Berwyn.

To take the tests, you must meet certain qualifications and pay a $40 application fee.

Checks should be made out to "Tredyffrin Township." Applications may be mailed to Superintendent of Police, Tredyffrin Township Police Department, 1100 DuPortail Road, Berwyn, PA 19312-1079. Cash is not accepted.

The application deadline is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17.

Here are the qualifications you must meet to take the tests:

  • AGE: Must be 21 years of age and applicant must not exceed 70 years of age on the date of the written test.
  • HEIGHT & WEIGHT: Must be in proportion.
  • VISION: Applicants shall have visual acuity of at least 20/70, uncorrected in the stronger eye, correctable to at least 20/20; and at least 20/200, uncorrected in the weaker eye, correctable to at least 20/40. In addition, the applicant shall have normal depth and color perception and be free of any other significant visual abnormality.
  • PHYSICAL: Applicant must pass a rigid physical examination and physical performance assessment consistent with job tasks.
  • EDUCATION: Current MPOETC certification through Act 120 and 60 college semester credits from an accredited college or university.
  • BACKGROUND: Applicant must not have a criminal conviction record, and must have an excellent reputation. An extensive background investigation will be conducted on all applicants considered for employment.

Applicant must answer all questions on the application forms completely and honestly, police said. Falsification or deliberate omission of any of the requested information may cause disqualification, according to police.
