TTPD Names Officer Of The Year

Congratulations Det. Robert Bostick! The Tredyffrin Township community is lucky to have you serving.

BERWYN, PA – Tredyffrin Township Police have named their officer of the year for 2016 at their recent Tredyffrin Township Police Department awards ceremony.

Det. Robert Mitchell Bostick has earned the top cop distinction from his peers on the force at the May 31 ceremony, according to police.

Bostick, 45, joined the department in March 1999 and is a 20 year law enforcement veteran. He was promoted to Class A Patrolman on Aug.. 1, 2002.

Bostick graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1989 with varsity letters in soccer and tennis and a place on the honor roll.

He proceeded to the University of Pittsburgh where he received an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 1992. He received his MPOETC law enforcement certification in December 1996 and soon thereafter was hired as a patrolman on the Middlesex Township Police Department, Carlisle, and Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.

During his two year tenure at Middlesex, Bostick worked a portion of it undercover, investigating narcotics with the Cumberland County District Attorneys.

Bostick is a three time nominee for the Officer of the Year Award, Second in Command of the
Detective Division with a specialty in Financial Crimes.

He is the son of retired Pennsylvania State Trooper Cherwin Bostick and Anne Bostick. His sister, Donna, nieces Ella & Olivia, fiancé Amanda and many other family members were on at the May 31 awards ceremony to celebrate his career milestone.

Some high points in Bostick’s career are:

  • 2003 - TTPD’s “Top Gun” DUI enforcer
  • 2004 - US House of Representatives Citation for High DUI Enforcement
  • 2010 - PA “Top Gun” Undercover Narcotics Graduate
  • 2013 - Chester Co. District Attorney’s Officer/TTPD Award of Merit for the Guido Lavella/Taylor Gifts financial crimes arrest (1.2 million in fraud)
  • 2015 - DVAPPO “Legion of Merit” Award and the ASIS Award with his partner, Det. Konieczny, for the Overdose Death Investigation of Grady Finn and subsequent arrest of two for Murder charges.
  • 2016 - Chester Co. District Attorney’s Award for the arrest and conviction of Phipps for serial burglary.
  • 2016 - Board of Supervisors Commendation for the investigation, arrest and conviction of seven members of the “Felony Lane Gang."
