Two New Officers Sworn In To Tredyffrin Police Force
Officers John Heleniak and Christopher DeCarlo bring a combined 11 years of law enforcement experience to the department.
BERYWN, PA – At a recent Tredyffrin Township Supervisors meeting, two new Tredyffrin Township Police officers were officially inducted into the department. Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Trip Lukens presided over the Monday, May 22 meeting where Officer John J. Heleniak and Officer Christopher M. DeCarlo were sworn in.
The swearing in was conducted by Magisterial District Judge Annalisa Sondergaard of the Chesterbrook District Court.
Heleniak, 30, of Plymouth Meeting, is a five year veteran law enforcement officer, coming to the Tredyffrin from the Drexel University Police Department, where he was a Patrol Sergeant and Field Training Officer.

Heleniak is a 2005 graduate of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School and 2009 graduate of Millersville University, where he earned a B.S. in secondary education. While attending Millersville, Heleniak wrestled on a scholarship.
He worked as a corrections officer before attending the Montgomery County Police Academy and his subsequent four years with Drexel University Police Department. Heleniak has 15 years of service with the Plymouth Fire Company and is a wrestling coach.

He is married and a father of two.
DeCarlo, 29, of Reading, is a six year veteran law enforcement officer, coming to the Tredyffrin from the City of Reading, Berks County, where he was a Field Training Officer and K-9 handler.
DeCarlo was a 2006 graduate of Downingtown West H.S. graduate and 2010 Penn State University-Altoona, earning a B.S in criminal justice with a sociology minor.
DeCarlo is married and a father of one and enjoys competitive mountain biking and playing ice hockey.
