Vacant Seat On Tredyffrin/Easttown School Board Needs To Be Filled

Robert Singh resigned from the Region II School Director​ position Friday, and officials are accepting applications through noon on Jan. 7.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Tredyffrin/Easttown School District is looking for a qualified Tredyffrin resident to fill a vacant seat on its board.

Board member Robert Singh resigned from the Region II School Director position Friday, leaving the seat vacant. Singh defeated Republican challenger Juliet Cordeiro in the November general election to retain his seat.

The position is open to residents of Region II, which comprises Tredyffrin Township Precincts M-3, M-4, M-7, W-1, W-2, and W-5.

Applicants must be 18 years or older and have lived in the district for at least one year.

Candidates may not be an employee of the district or hold certain public offices.

The successful candidate will serve a term running through the first week of December 2027.

The position will be filled at the November 2027 municipal election.

Requirements for the position include, but are not limited to, attending regular school board meetings which are typically the fourth Monday of each month, as well as participating in additional board meetings, committee meetings, and board assignment duties as they arise.

Interested parties should submit résumés that contain:

  • Your contact information including your home address, home/work phone numbers and email address
  • The number of years you have lived in the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District
  • Community Activities
  • Recent Employment History
  • Educational Background
  • If you have children, the number who are, have been, or will be in Tredyffrin/Eastown School District Schools or other schools

Additionally, applicants are to respond to each of the following questions in 50 words or fewer for each question:

  • Why do you wish to serve on the Tredyffrin/Easttown Board of School Directors?
  • What are three attributes you will bring to the Tredyffrin/Easttown Board of School Directors?
  • What do you think is the single most important issue facing public education today?

Applications must be received by noon Jan. 7, 2026.

Submit applications by emailing the above to schoolboard@tesd.net, or drop them off in person to the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District Administration Offices, 940 West Valley Road, Suite 1700 in Wayne, to the attention of Sarah Halley, Superintendent’s Office.

The board reserves the right to limit the number of applicants to be interviewed. At this point, the board does not expect to interview more than five candidates. Candidates who are invited to be interviewed will be required to bring a completed statement of financial interest form. The form is available in the business office of the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District Administration Offices.

All candidates must be available for a special school board meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 15, 2026 at Conestoga High School. The meeting will begin with candidate interviews.

While the interviews will be held in public, candidates will not be permitted to attend other candidate interviews. There will be no questioning or comments by the public during the interviews, but the public will have an opportunity to comment on the selection process before the confirmation vote.

After the interviews and public comment, the board will vote to confirm the new board member.
