Watch 'Screwball' Comedy Movies At Easttown Library This Month

The library will show "screwball" comedies from the 1930s and 1940s later this month as part of a special weekend long movie series.

BERWYN, PA — The Friends of the Easttown Library are inviting you to a series of movie events at the library that will surely have you cracking up.

The series will feature four films from the 1930s and 1940s with a special discussion event with

Ursinus College media professor Jennifer Fleeger and her former student Jordan Scharaga, both of whom studied the four films extensively.

Each show is $10 at the door, but a $25 weekend pass is also available online or at the library. Weekend pass holders receive a ticket to a bonus film at the newly renovated Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville.

  • Saturday, Feb. 24, 10:30 a.m. — My Man Godfrey ©Universal 1936, 94 minutes
  • Saturday, Feb. 24, 1 p.m. — Lecture: "Screwballs on Screen" with Jennifer Fleeger and Jordan Scharaga, Ursinus College
  • Saturday, Feb. 24, 2:15 p.m. — The Lady Eve ©Universal 1941, 94 minutes

For weekend pass holders only:

  • Sunday, Feb. 25, 12:30 p.m. — Private tour followed by The Seven Year Itch at the Colonial Theatre, 227 Bridge Street, Phoenixville
