Water Main Break Closes Northbound Swedesford Road In Tredyffrin

Water issues persist, as police are urging drivers to avoid the area of Swedesford Road after a water main broke Tuesday morning.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA – In what appears to be fate adding insult to injury, a water main broke Tuesday morning in Tredyffrin Township just a day after flooding plagued the area from heavy rains.

Tredyffrin Police said a water main broke on West Swedesford Road between Cassatt Road and Westlakes Drive.

West Swedesford Road's northbound lanes are now closed, police said at about 1 p.m. One southbound lane is passable.

West Swedesford Road rivers are being detoured to Duportail Road and Chesterbrook Boulevard, then back to West Swedesford.

Police said at about 4 p.m. that they expect the closure to last through the evening commute.
