Wendy Eiteljorg joins the Board of Trustees of Delaware Valley Friends School, a Quaker, college preparatory school for students in grades 5-12 who have learning differences. Trustees provide guidance for achieving the school's mission of preparing its students for future work and study.
Wendy is the Director of Educational Technology and a teacher at The Shipley School, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, where she is part of the Central Administrative team and helps lead the curriculum group. She works with teachers to help support their effective use of technology in the classroom and she teaches a section of English and Digital Fabrication in Shipley’s Makerspace that incorporates 3D printing, laser cutting and other digital construction methods. An experienced teacher of students in grades 3-12, Wendy taught 5th grade at Shipley for a number of years before taking her current position, and taught for almost ten years in the Chicago Public Schools before relocating to the Philadelphia area. Wendy has a BA from Amherst College, where she was an Asian Studies and Fine Arts double major, and an M.Ed from Temple University. Her more recent professional development has been around technology and interdisciplinary studies. Wendy attends the Haverford Monthly Meeting with her husband and two children, where she serves on the First Day School committee. Wendy is also on the board of the Association of Delaware Valley Independent Schools (ADVIS). When asked why she wanted to serve on the DVFS Board of Trustees, Wendy replied, “I am very interested in Quaker education and supporting all learners. A few of my former students are at DV. What I heard from their parents and my own family's experiences with learning differences made me excited to serve on DV's board.” Read more--> www.dvfs.org/newboard
