Woodlynde School Appoints New Board Members

Woodlynde School welcomed four new members to its board of trustees: Dana DeBenedictis-Spino, Sarah Houston, John Mullany, and David Virgil

Dana DeBenedictis-Spino, of Havertown, is the manager of media services for Upper Darby School District where she is responsible for all marketing, public relations, and promotional aspects of the school district. A parent of a recent Woodlynde graduate, DeBenedictis-Spino holds a master’s degree in education from Penn State University. She brings years of experience in both public relations and education to the board.

Sarah Houston, of Phoenixville, has worked for Vanguard since 1992 and currently serves as principal and head of flagship services in Vanguard Retail Investor Group. In this role, she is responsible for Vanguards high and ultra high net-worth businesses. A current Woodlynde parent, Houston earned her bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University.

John Mullany, of Phoenixville, is a 2007 graduate of Woodlynde School. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science with minors in English and performing arts from Saint Joseph’s University and a master’s degree in theatre from Villanova University. He owns and operates Ripples in the Pond Productions, a video production company based in Phoenixville.

David Virgil, of Swarthmore, is a current Woodlynde parent and works for EwingCole as a senior project architect. He has been involved in a variety of high-profile projects with EwingCole, including the Charles McC. Mathias Laboratory at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center and the NASA Exploration Sciences Building at the Goddard Flight Center in Maryland. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Virgil is also serving his third appointment to the Swarthmore Town Planning Commission.

Located in Strafford, Woodlynde School is one of the region’s oldest college prep schools for students in grades K through 12 with language- or math-based learning differences, ADD/ADHD, Auditory Processing Disorder, or Executive Function Disorder.
