Woodlynde School Appoints New Board Members, Officers

Woodlynde School recently appointed four members and four officers to its board of trustees.

The Woodlynde School, a non-profit independent school on the Main Line for students in grades K-12 with learning differences, recently appointed four new members and four new officers to its board of trustees.

Peter Classen of Radnor was appointed to the board. He is the former executive vice president of regional presidents for PNC Bank, from which he recently retired after 28 years of service.

Lindsey O’Connor of Malvern was appointed to the board. She holds a Ph.D. in British history from Cornell University. She has a been a member of the Woodlynde School Parent Community Association Executive Board since 2011, serving as co-president for the past two school years.

Renee Reilly of Devon joins the board after serving as the school’s Parent Community Association co-president for two years. With an M.B.A. from Lehigh University, Reilly works for both Sarkisian Bros., Inc. in Binghamton, NY and Midstate Filigree Systems, Inc. in Cranbury, NJ, where she is responsible for insurance and financial reporting.

John Williams of Paoli joins Woodlynde School’s board of trustees with over 33 years of experience in the financial services industry. He currently serves as senior vice president of wealth management at UBS Financial Services in Conshohocken.

Maryann O’Conor of Berwyn was recently appointed board chair. She has served on Woodlynde’s board of trustees since 2008. O’Conor is a recently retired manager of Procter & Gamble with 37 years of experience in consumer products marketing.

David Hartzell of Narberth was named vice chair and treasurer. He currently works for Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. where he serves as managing director of investment banking and runs Oppenheimer’s business services group.

Jean Earhart of Collegeville serves Woodlynde’s board as secretary. A Woodlynde board member since 2012, Earhart also serves on the parent association board at Academy of Notre Dame de Namur and volunteers at St. Eleanor’s Church in Collegeville.

Marc Balcer of Wayne was named advancement chair. He is a former investment manager and founder of Bluefin Investment Management in Berwyn. Balcer is a social entrepreneur, having worked on homelessness and hunger issues as well as having created a scholarship program for young orienteers.

Located in Strafford, Woodlynde School is one of the region’s oldest college prep schools for students in grades K through 12 with language- or math-based learning differences, ADD/ADHD, Auditory Processing Disorder, or Executive Function Disorder.
