Yellow Springs Road Closed Indefinitely By Tree Striking Bridge

PennDOT said drivers will be detoured while highway engineers determine the extent of the damage and make a repair plan.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — Yellow Springs Road in Valley Forge National Historical Park in Tredyffrin is closed after a tree fell on the Knox Covered Bridge, PennDOT said.

Yellow Springs Road is currently closed between Route 252/Valley Creek Road and Library Lane.

During the closure, motorists will be directed to use the posted detour.

Additionally, Valley Creek Trail is shut down between Wolfinger Trail and the Covered Bridge.

It's not clear exactly what caused the incident, though recent storms have damaged other trees in the park and rainfall can make soil unstable.
