Ambler Skate Shop Rolling into Holiday Season

The Ambler and Upper Dublin areas have plenty of business options for someone looking to thrift shop, grab a bite to eat, or get their haircut. But when it comes to buying a new skate deck or finding a pair of Vans shoes, options are rather limited: the mall, or the .
Open in some form or another for 25 years, Craig Lutz, co-owner since 2010, says the shop is still all about offering quality products to the area's skating community, and quality deals this weekend.
"We have all the hardware; decks, trucks, wheels, bearings; and also the soft goods, like shoes, clothes, jeans, t-shirts and hats," Lutz said. "We're doing a sale for black Friday with marked down inventory, and we'll do another sale later in the holiday season."

Lutz, 29, is an Upper Dublin High graduate who studied entrepreneurship at Temple University, and is putting his education to work by running the shop with co-owner Mike McGuire.
Apparently, he was paying attention during the "location is everything" part of his lectures.

"We're pretty much the only skate shop in the area, and Ambler borough just built a skateshop right down the street," Lutz said.
Lutz says the store will be open for its normal hours from 12:00-8:00pm on small business Saturday, but will likely open 10:00am-10:00pm for Black Friday.
