UPPER DUBLIN TOWNSHIP, PA — A truck driver was rescued on Wednesday night after his tractor-trailer veered off the Pennsylvania Turnpike and was hanging over the guardrail.
Emergency crews responded to the area of the Pennsylvania Turnpike around Mile Marker 338.8 in the westbound lanes in Upper Dublin Township at 10:50 p.m. on Wednesday.
Emergency Alerts of Southeastern Pennsylvania said the driver was trapped inside as the truck dangled over the guardrail with raging waters from thunderstorms swelling a creek below.
Numerous emergency response crews in eastern Montgomery County — including the Fort Washington Fire Company — responded to the scene to free the truck driver.
