Area Businesses Turn Out for MGCA Community Card Exchange
Over 60 businesses were represented at the Maple Glen Community Association's Annual Community Card Exchange.
On the last day of March, the Maple Glen Community Association hosted its fifth annual spring business card exchange meet and greet. The event was co-sponsored by the Maple Glen branch of First Niagara bank.
“We are always looking for simple ways for people to connect, and get more involved in the community,” said MGCA President Steven Greene. “What’s also nice is that we see new people at each event. As the association grows, so does the opportunity for members to network and share business. One of our mission tenets is to keep local business local and events like this help with that goal.”
Even with the rainy night, over 60 people, both MGCA members and nonmembers, attended the event, with most staying for the full two hours of the event.
Along with exchanging business cards with new contacts and rekindling friendships with older connections, the attendees enjoyed refreshments provided by the bank. Maple Glen resident and MGCA member Kirsten Puskar won Phillies tickets in a raffle.
“It’s great to see everyone meeting new people and having a good time,” said Stephi Bowers from First Niagara, secretary/treasurer of the MGCA. “We took in four new member applications at tonight, and we’ll have more in the mail this week.”
Presently, the group has 65 members and is constantly growing. The MGCA is a local group open to everyone in the Greater Upper Dublin, promoting business and networking interests as well and fundraising and community service initiatives.
