Cardinal Sports Wrap, Sept. 27: Golf Downs Wissahickon by a Stroke, XC Runner Holl a Champion
Plus, field hockey picks up an exciting one-goal victory.

Field Hockey
The Lady Cardinals kept up with their winning ways Monday afternoon, as they took down Christopher Dock High School with a late, game-winning goal.
After being down 2-0 early in the first half, Jen Harchut took a pass from Kelly Cross and put it in the back of the net. A little more than two minutes after that, Emily Hitchings scored the equalizing goal. Hannah Bergey scored a go-ahead goal for Dock with six minutes left but it was quickly matched by Upper Dublin’s Marie Wheatley.

After a 3-3 tie at halftime, Dublin’s Anna Lauer came through with some late heroics and tallied the game winner. Wheatley scored her second point of the day on the goal with an assist.
The win puts the girls at 6-1 in the SOL American Conference with a 7-2 overall record. They’ll play away at Cheltenham on Tuesday.

Girls Cross Country
Upper Dublin senior Sarah Holl is now a champion. Her first-place finish held a time of 19:25.76 in the Girls Champion division of the 19th Annual Carlisle High School Invitational. Her time met the national silver standard. Upper Dublin finished second as a team overall, finishing behind Palmyra High. Laura Wohlgemuth finished 28th (21:08.16) and Marissa Holl was 29th (21:08.65).
Girls Soccer
CB East’s Abby Emmert's goal was the only one needed to beat Upper Dublin in the Pats 1-0 win over the Cardinals. Her 39th minute goal was assisted by Paige Marcinkowski in an interleague match up. Upper Dublin stays in second place, as they move to 5-1 in the SOL American Conference, but drop their overall record to 7-3.
Golf
Upper Dublin held on by one stroke to defeat Wissahickon, 193-194.
Andrew Carber led the Cards to victory by shooting one under par. He birdied hole number 14, and missed an eagle on the challenging 18th hole by inches, leaving a short birdie putt. Tom O'Brien, Jon Bebey, Jake Kieserman and Harry Sykes rounded out the scoring.
The win leaves them in a tie atop the SOL American leaderboard.
