Cheese on Wheels

Grilled cheese + food truck = Holy Cheese!

Holy Cheese! is not only the solution in this food equation, but also Montgomery County’s newest mobile eatery and self-proclaimed “gourmet grilled cheese wagon.”

“Grilled cheese is a family favorite everyone loves, and one of the most popular comfort foods in America,” said Holy Cheese! owner Chris Eddis. “It’s also the perfect outlet for us to use wholesome, local, farm-fresh ingredients. We can serve everyone, from children to vegetarians, and offer choices like gluten-free bread.”

Eddis, who co-owns Holy Cheese! with his wife, Jenn, said the inspiration for their food truck is family, and serving something everyone can enjoy.

Holy Cheese! menu items will range from $4 to $7 and include sandwiches like the Italian, with fresh basil, pancetta, tomato and sharp provolone, as well as hand-cut French fries, all-natural homemade soups and water ice.

“Our menu will constantly be evolving, so we will update our menu items periodically on our website,” Jenn said.

“What’s special about our grilled cheese, is that it’s made with love and creativity,” Eddis said. “You can get anything from an old-fashioned grilled cheese, to our inventive gourmet options, and even create your own.”

Holy Cheese! is in the final phase of its opening process, including getting all the approvals from the health department.

“The process has been somewhat time consuming, but we should have all inspections, permits and legalities finalized [soon],” Eddis said.

Chris and Jenn Eddis both grew up in the Philadelphia area and graduated from Drexel University. They’ve worked in gourmet restaurants around the country for nearly 20 years, and have already proven themselves successful in the food-truck industry, with an award-winning mobile food business in Nashville, Tenn. A family emergency forced the couple to move back to the Philadelphia area, but the Eddises decided to continue pursuing success in the food-truck business.

“We decided to get into the gourmet food-truck industry because we love to cook good food, and it was a great way to be entrepreneurs and work together as a family,” Jenn Eddis said.

The Eddises plan to set up Holy Cheese! at local community days, business parks, farm markets, college campuses, festivals and other community events. To find out where Holy Cheese! will be on a given day, follow them on Twitter and Facebook, or check out the Holy Cheese! website, where they will post locations live every day. Hours will vary, but will include brunch, lunch and dinner.

“Please follow us on the social networks for our launch day and location,” Jenn said. “We will announce our official date for opening as soon as our inspection is finalized.”
