District Names New Director of Elementary Education, Gifted Education and Federal Programs
Kimberly Minor brings experience and enthusiasm to her new role
Ft. Washington, PA….Recently-hired School District of Upper Dublin Director of Elementary Education, Gifted Education and Federal Programs Kimberly I. Minor, Ed.D., is committed to bringing the best learning opportunities to all students. “I am delighted that I will be focusing on the areas that I am passionate about: elementary education, gifted education and literacy,” she said.

Minor has spent more than 20 years in the field of education and has worked extensively in school districts throughout Pennsylvania. Her experience is broad and she has been the director of pupil services, elementary school principal and social studies teacher. She has also served as the executive director of a school district foundation and an educational consultant. Minor plans to apply her impressive skills to supporting teachers and administrators to ensure that student achievement is fostered through a quality curriculum and effective instruction.
“The District’s high level of academic achievement and excellent reputation---as well as the community’s commitment to education and achievement---create a vibrant learning environment that presents exciting opportunities,” Minor said.

The first task on her agenda is to gain a thorough understanding of the District’s classroom instruction from the perspective of its many stakeholders: students, parents, teachers, and administrators. She plans to accomplish this through formal meetings, observations and casual conversations.
“Providing a sound, engaging and relevant curriculum is a District priority,” said Superintendent Deborah Wheeler. “Dr. Minor is a great addition to the leadership team and her background is an asset to the District.”
Minor holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Education degree from West Chester University. She received her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership through Immaculata University.
She replaces former Director of Elementary Education and Gifted Education William Gretzula who resigned from the District in the spring
Married with three daughters in middle school and high school, Minor enjoys spending time with her family and travelling.
