GA Sports: Baseball Team Walks-Off against Newark Academy, 6-5
The Patriots move to 2-0-1 on the year.

The fighting spirit of the Germantown Academy baseball team made another appearance Tuesday, as the Patriots knocked in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Newark Academy (N.J.) 6-5.
Unlike GA's first two games, in which they rallied to savage a win and a tie, it was the Patriots who held a 5-0 lead after four innings of play. However, starting pitcher Matthew Dale lost his groove in the fifth, giving up two runs. Reliever Joseph Taylor ran into similar trouble in the sixth, giving up three more to allows Newark to tie the game.
However, Dale held the opposition scoreless in the top of the seventh, enabling the Patriots to move ahead in the final inning of play.
Offensively, infielder Daniel Hoy led Germantown by going four for four with three RBIs and a triple. Utility player Ryan Dolan also had a solid day at the plate, picking up a double, triple, and a walk. The Patriots struck out just twice on the day.
Germantown continues its trip in Florida with two more games before returning to Pennsylvania ahead of a Monday matchup with Roman Catholic.
