Gas Files 3/15: Prices Level Out

After two weeks of sharp climbing, prices level out, partly due to the disasters in Japan.

After two weeks of skyrocketing prices, the cost of gasoline leveled out this week. Of the six stations we monitor, two remained the same in price, and none increased more than four cents per gallon.

The gas station with the lowest price remains the 7-Eleven in East Ambler, which sells a gallon for $3.45. The most expensive is the Exxon in Maple Glen, selling for $3.69, or 24 cents more.

The plateau in prices is thought to be in part because of the earthquake and subsequent tsunami hitting Japan.
