Girls Hoops: Germantown Academy Routs Penn Charter, Falls to Villa Maria
Still undefeated in Inter-Ac. play.

The Germantown Academy girls' basketball team now sits at 11-6, 5-0 in the Inter-Ac, after splitting a pair of games over the weekend.
The Patriots allowed just four points in both the first and third quarter, but still lost to Villa Maria, 38-35, in a non-league contest at Saturday's 11th Annual Philly.Com Rally Girls High School Play-By-Play Classic at Philadelphia University.
Senior guard Jaryn Garner '12 posted seven points and 10 rebounds while junior guard Fran Sweeney '13 added six points. Natalie Toner '13 provided a solid contribution of 14 points, two steals, three rebounds, two assists and zero turnovers. Toner was later named the game's most valuable player. Junior Kiernan McCloskey '13 tallied 11 rebounds and three blocks.

The Patriots shutout the visiting Quakers, 11-0, in the first quarter of Friday's Inter-Ac League contest en route to an easy 54-30 victory.
Junior Kiernan McCloskey '13 powered GA's offense with 19 points, including three treys, and hauled in 11 rebounds. McCloskey hit 8-for-15 from the field. Junior Natalie Toner '13 also had a big game; she went 6-for-10 from the field and finished with 14 points.
Senior Jaryn Garner '12 did her part too. The senior guard pulled down 10 boards, added eight points and dished out five assists. Junior Fran Sweeney '13 chipped in with eight points. Freshman Olivia Gorman '15 scored two points while sophomore Breezy Cullen '14 and sophomore Melanie Repella '14 each scored one point. Cullen also had two rebounds and a steal in the the final minutes of the game. Junior Dempsey Cooper '13 collected five assists.
