P-Release: UDPL Holding Play n' Learn Event for Toddlers Saturday

The Upper Dublin Public Library is hosting a Play n’ Learn Open House on Saturday, March 31 from 10:00a to Noon. Children ages 2 to 6 and their parents or care givers are invited to drop in anytime to talk, sing, read, write, and play together with a large variety of creative & stimulating pre-literacy activity stations!

“We recognize at the Upper Dublin Public Library the power of play in helping young children develop their reading skills,” says Library Director Cherilyn Fiory. “Public libraries already play an important role in introducing all young children to the joy of reading through books, storytimes, and other programs. By enhancing those traditional services with meaningful play activities, the Library is on its way to becoming an early literacy center in our community. This open house is just a first step towards achieving that goal.”

Thanks to a Thinkfinity Verizon grant awarded to Montgomery County Libraries, the Upper Dublin Public Library’s Children’s area will be turned into an interactive discovery space where children can explore all the five pre-literacy activities, and parents or caregivers can learn more about how to help their children build strong literacy skills. 

FREE books will be distributed on a first come, first served basis!
