The Gas Files 2/8: A new champion in Upper Dublin

At the suggestion of one of our readers, we checked out a new station this week, and sure enough, we have a winner.

This week, we added a new station to our route at the suggestion of reader Erik Davis, and it turned out to be a winner with the new lowest price for gas in Upper Dublin.

The new titleholder is the Exxon in Dresher, near the intersection of Limekiln Pike and Twining Road. The station knocks off the Sunoco in Dresher by one penny, charging $3.11 for a gallon of regular gasoline. The Exxon station is also four cents cheaper for a gallon of plus ($3.25) and a gallon of premium ($3.35).

The 7-Eleven in Ambler remains in third, and is not far behind, meaning residents in the northwest might want to fill up there. That station remains stagnant in price this week, at $3.15 for regular, $3.27 for plus and $3.41 for premium.

The Exxon in Maple Glen and Lukoil by 309 and the turnpike remain far behind, selling for prices that are considerably higher.

The math: Filling up a 12-gallon tank at the Exxon in Dresher instead of the Lukoil in Fort Washington will save you $2.16.
