Twin Spring Farm Elementary Students Kick-off Year of Community Service with Manna on Main Street Project

Students at TSF packaged snack bags for Manna on Main Street to give to students in after school Boys and Girls Clubs in North Penn.

Community Service Projects for TSF Elementary Students September: Manna on Main Street

What is Manna on Main Street?
Manna on Main Street is committed to ending hunger in the North Penn region by providing food, fulfilling social service and education needs, and conducting community outreach. Through a food pantry and soup kitchen, emergency financial aid, counseling and referrals, and education opportunities, we serve those in need with the hope “that everyone might be fed.”

Earlier this week, families, teachers, and staff brought in numerous boxes of snacks to be used for the Manna on Main community service project. On Thursday, Pre-First, 1st and 2nd graders, were organized into 4 groups. One teacher served as the leader and mixed the bowl of donated snacks. The students, wearing plastic gloves, bagged hundreds of bags of snacks to be donated to Manna on Main so that they can give them to students in the Boys and Girls Clubs in after school programs in North Penn.

Mrs. Seligman led a brief introduction to the project that explained the importance of donating food and time to make these snack packs. Our students worked consistently throughout the hour to make as many bags as possible. More bags were made during our Sundowner program (after school). Through the community service projects, TSF students learn about helping others, compassion, and understanding.
