UD Sports: Girls Lacrosse Downs Cheltenham, 19-8

The Upper Dublin girls lacrosse team now stands at 2-0 in the young season after defeating Cheltenham 19-8 at home on Thursday.

The Lady Cardinals were once again led by their trio of senior standouts, as Brooke Callahan tallied five goals, Kelly Cross four goals and an assist, and Emily Hitchings three goals and three assists.

Julie Cross also earned a hat trick with her three goals, while Taylor D'Ginto pitched in two.

The game was all but out of reach by halftime, when the Lady Cardinals went up 16-5.

Upper Dublin hits the road, or more accurately skies, for the first time this season when they travel to Vero Beach High School, of Vero Beach, Florida, for a game next Wednesday. The Fighting Indians are currently ranked 23rd in the nation by ESPN.
